Rivers State police officers arrest man for asking them for road direction

So a Nigerian man who lost his way, but decided to ask Nigerian Police Officers attached to Rivers State Police Command for road direction, got arrested instead. “We No Longer Issue Visas To Nigerians” — Netherlands Embassy

The Netherlands Embassy in Nigeria, on Tuesday reminded Nigerians that it was no longer in the business of issuing them visas. Man sells daughter and neighbour's child to raise fund for father-in-law's burial

An artisan on Waidi Ogunseye Street, Meiran, Lagos State, Kingsley Oriaku, has owned up to selling one of his five children, a one-and-a-half-year-old girl, Chimamada Oriaku. He also confessed to kidnapping his neighbour’s seven-year-old son, Gabriel Yanga, barely two months after he moved to the area, adding that he used the N310,000 he realised from the sale of the two children for the burial of his father-in-law.

LAUTECH students lock out UTME candidates .

Students of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology ( LAUTECH), Ogbomoso have shut the gates of the institution against UTME candidates scheduled to write their examination on Monday morning. The gates were locked after students leaders held a congress by 5am and resolved that the school will be lockdown and no Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination will hold until their demands are met. The demands include, a comprehensive academic calendar, commencement of lectures and a permanent resolution of the crisis in the institution. Unless the demands are met, the student leaders said they will continue to protest and ensure a total lockdown of the institution. The student leaders said the aim of the lockdown is to get the attention of the federal government on the plight of the institution.

I killed my uncle because he was trying to rape me – 22-year-old lady

The Enugu State police have arrested one Tina Rebecca Sunday for killing her uncle, one Friday Mathew, 48, in the Independence Layout area of Enugu on Thursday, October 26, 2017. . Tina, a native of Ikot Udobang Ukanafon, Akwa Ibom State, lived with the now deceased uncle. Tina was arrested while attempting to escape, after committing the crime, a report by Punchng indicates. But the lady, in her confessional statement, has described the killing as accidental. Tina disclosed that she killed Mathew, while struggling to escape his attempt to have forceful carnal knowledge of her. . She said her uncle has been trying to sleep with her for a very long time. Rebecca said she has been resisting Mathew’s amorous advances, but the uncle never gave up, until the matter took a tragic turn around 8:30 pm on October 26. .
