Ghanaian Soldier, Captain Maxwell Mahama, Who Was Lynched And Burned To Death By People Who Thought He Was A Robber, Laid To Rest In State Burial
Major Maxwell Adam Mahama met his untimely death last Monday, when some residents of Denkyira Obuasi in the Central Region, lynched him in a case of mistaken identity. Some women mistook him for a robber because he was without a uniform and was with a pistol. They reported him to the Assembly man who mobilised youths to lynch him. He was clobbered, stoned and burnt after he had fallen unconscious. The golf lover pleaded with his assailants to spare his life, but no one was ready to listen to him. His rude death has widely been condemned by Ghanaians with a resolve to end all cases of mob injustice. 41 suspects have been remanded in connection with his death
