Senate threatens to issue warrant for arrest of GLO CEO, 15 others

The Senate Joint Committee on Customs, Excise and Tariff and Marine Transport, have threatened to issue a warrant for the arrest of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Glo Mobile and other blue chip companies that failed to honour its invitation to appear before its investigative panel on their alleged complicity in N30 trillion revenue probe. About 30 companies have been invited by the senate for their alleged involvement in fraudulent activities while importing some of their goods into the country. The senate had recently mandated its Joint Committee on Customs, Excise and Tariff and Marine Transport to investigate the alleged N30 trillion revenue leakages in Forex and the entire import and export value chain between 2006 and 2017. Man commits suicide after stabbing fiancee to death in Ebonyi State

A man, Friday Njoku on Friday committed suicide after killing his 25 years old fiancee, Cynthia Nwafia. Njoku and Cynthia have been friends for some years . Njoku, it was further gathered, had done preliminary traditional introduction to the parents and relatives of the girl to indicate his intension to marry her and was accepted by Cynthia’s family. . Njoku and Cynthia’s relationship had advanced as they were already planning their formal marriage only for him to stabbed the girl to death. He had stormed his lover’s house at 5 Amachi street, Abakaliki when she was cooking and stabbed her. Cynthia was rushed to the hospital by her neighbours following alarm but she could not make it as she passed away few minutes after being taken to the hospital. Police Arrest Man Who Attempted To Assassinate Business Rival In Enugu

Engineer Ekene Ani and Nsukka based businessman has survived an assassination attempt on his life by a gang, claimed to have been hired by his neighbour in the market at Achara road, Nsukka, Enugu. According to Mr. Mohammed Danmallam, the state's commissioner of police who confirmed the incident said that 37-year-old Chinedu Nweke allegedly attacked Engineer Anih, with some gang members. 19-year-old college student Anok Yai went viral after a photographer took her picture at Howard University homecoming..Now, the South Sudanese student has been inundated with modelling offers.
