Lady faints after mistakenly breaking a £34,000 bracelet while trying it on at a shop

A tourist in China is reported to have fainted after accidentally breaking a jade bracelet worth £34,000. The woman was visiting a jade market in Ruili City, south western China's Yunnan province on June 27 when she accidentally dropped a bracelet while trying it on. Unfortunately for the woman, the jade bracelet snapped in half, reports the People's Daily Online. . SGF visits ailing ex-Vice President Alex Ekwueme, in the UK

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, today paid a visit to ailing Vice President Alex Ekwueme, at a London hospital. The 85-year-old former Vice President was rushed to an Enugu-based hospital two weeks ago after suffering a chest infection. President Buhari approved for him to be flown to any hospital in the world to receive better medical care. The former vice president was airlifted to a UK hospital yesterday, November 12th. SGF Boss Mustapha during his visit today, conveyed President Buhari’s goodwill message to Ekwueme. Mustapha was received at the hospital by the wife of the elder statesman, Helen Ekwueme. Mr. Mustapha told the Ekwueme family that the President and all Nigerians are praying for the speedy recovery of the elder statesman, adding that he believed that the doctors were doing their best.

Man who killed a father-of-2 and tried fleeing to Nigeria, jailed for 18 years in U.K

A Nigerian man who stabbed a father-of-two to death on a busy high street has been jailed for 18 years. Abraham Omotoso, 27, of Tudor Gardens, Harrow, plunged a knife into the chest of 34-year-old Mohamed Al-Zufairi in High Street, Wealdstone in February this year. Mr Al-Zufairi had been waiting outside Poundland for his eight-year-old daughter when he was attacked. She did not witness her father being stabbed. Omotoso was found guilty of manslaughter at the Old Bailey and will serve 18 years behind bars for his crime. Investigating officer detective inspector Jon Meager said: “Omotoso has shown no remorse for his actions on that day. I hope his conviction gives Mohamed’s family a measure of closure and comfort.” CCTV footage of the incident showed Omotoso walking in a “purposeful” manner before approaching Mr Al-Zufairi.
