Kebbi Accountant-General, Dakingari, Bag 70years In Jail Over N1.6bn Fraud

The Court of Appeal, Kebbi Division has upturned the judgment of a Kebbi State High Court which discharged and acquitted a Kebbi State Accountant-General (AG), Mohammed Arzika Dakingari, on charges of conspiracy and obtaining by false pretence preferred against him and one other by EFCC. He, among other things allegedly used his office as the AG, Kebbi State for personal enrichment to the tune of N1.6billion. Dakingari was charged alongside Musa Yusuf, Managing Director, Beal Construction Nigeria Limited; a company owned by him (Dakingari) and used in award various contracts to himself. Dakingari’s stake in Beal Construction Limited is contrary to civil service regulation which forbids serving officers from owning businesses. Findings by the EFCC at the Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC, showed that Mohammed Bashir Mohammed, Anwal Sadat and Nasir Mohammed, all sons of the AG, are directors of the company, while two of his brothers, Abduallahi Mohammed and Habibu Moha...

Here are photos from the scene at the Abuja residence of Bilyamin Muhammed Bello, the son of a former PDP chairman, Haliru Bello, who was stabbed to the death by his wife, Maryam Sanda, the daughter of embattled former Aso Savings boss, Hajia Maimuna Aliyu over the weekend. It was gathered that the incident happened following an allegation of infidelity against Muhammed. Maryam reportedly saw text message on the deceased’s phone which infuriated her. She was alleged to have stabbed Bilyamin (her husband) three times in the back and severally on his private part at their Maitama home in Abuja. Prior to this, Maryam had inflicted injury on her hubby. Muhammed has been buried, according, Islamic rites. Source: El masjid wall

A young graduate of Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, has become the youngest king in the entire Ijaw nation – filling the vacuum created by the death of the former monarch, HRM Capt. Lucky Erebulu, two years ago. The barrister, His Royal Majesty, Peremobowei Shedrack Erebulu, Aduo III, was presented with a staff of office on Monday, Oct 23rd (yesterday), during his official installation as Pere of Kabowei Kingdom at the Pere’s palace in the vicinity of Patani, Delta state.

Alausa Church Deserted Over Sacking Of Pastor

The Chapel of Christ the Light, Alausa, Ikeja, was a shadow of itself on Sunday during the Sunday service as many members of the church did not show up. According to The PUNCH, it was observed that the chapel was sparsely filled as the service, which usually ended around 1pm, was brought to a close at 11.30am. Of the 30 church members that were supposed to be part of the birthday thanksgiving service for the month of May, only nine were present. From the prayer session, led by the Chaplain, Very Rev. Ayo Oyadotun to the choir ministration, the general theme was overcoming difficult times and fighting forces seeking to scatter the church. This low turnout by the members was allegedly attributed to the sacking of Venerable Femi Taiwo by the Governing Council of the church allegedly on the orders of the state Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode.
