On Tuesday, a policeman was assaulted in Ibadan, Oyo State, by a SARS official after a driver he was trying to extort, was freed.
According to an eyewitness, the incident occurred around the Ibadan Airport. It was gathered that some SARS officials were chasing a car and they started harassing the driver after he stopped.
The harassment continued until a policeman in jean and shirt came to his rescue. He asked the SARS officials what the driver's offense was and why they're taking him to the station.
The questions angered one of the SARS officials, who ended up hitting the policeman with a gun, thus leading to a struggle between them. The officials were later dragged to the Area Command.
