Elderly Couple Strangled In Osun

The police in Osun on Sunday said unknown assailants strangled to death an elderly couple in Gbongan area of the state. The spokeswoman of the police in the state, Mrs Folashade Odoro, said in a statement on Sunday that their bodies was found at about 11 am at their residence in Gbongan. Odoro said the son of the couple, Caleb Akanbi, reported the death of his parents to the police after he found them strangled. “When police got to the scene of the incident, Mr Reuben Akanbi, 70, and Mrs Victoria Akanbi, 68, who lived in an isolated house were found dead with violence marks on them. “The crime is suspected to have been carried out overnight and the body of the deceased couple had been removed and deposited at LAUTECH Teaching Hospital for autopsy. “Police special detectives had, however, been deployed to fish out the killers, ” she said.

Man buys over N400k call credit from woman's bank account .

Operatives of the Lagos Rapid Response Squad of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested a man who specializes in recharging call credit from other people’s bank account. The suspect, Ebenezer Oyeneye, a 50-year-old truck driver who resides at 4, Moyinoluwa Avenue, Ijoko Lemode, Ogun State, was arrested by the Decoy team of RRS. It was reported at Aguda Divisional Headquarters in Surulere that one woman reported that an unknown person had been recharging their phone call credit from her bank account at one of the new generation commercial banks since July 2016. According to the victim, she noted that the fraud began on the 4th of July 2016, after she received a debit alert from her bank that she had recharged a sum of N1,000 call credit for her phone line without sending such command or initiating such transaction. 72 Year Old Man Shot His 28-year-old Wife In The Face Because 'she Told Him He Didn't Satisfy Her'

72-year-old Clarence White who got fed up of his wife complaining about his inability to satisfy her sexually or financially ended up pulling the trigger on her. The man is said to have grabbed a 22-caliber handgun and shot his much-younger wife in the face at their Bronx home on Thursday morning. Sources told the New York Daily News that the shooting followed an argument between White and his 28-year-old wife over her growing dissatisfaction with his inability to satisfy her financially or sexually. Policeman allegedly kills final year student over refusal to give N100 bribe

A policeman has allegedly shot to death one Imo Ekanem, a final year student of the Department of Mass Communication, Uyo City Polytechnic, Nduetong Oku, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, over the victim’s refusal to give N100 bribe, Punchng reports. Ekanem was shot dead by the policeman at his hometown, Nkek, on Saturday, while he was on errand using his mother’s motorcycle. An eyewitness, Usung Simeon, revealed that Ekanem was killed by one of the policemen attached to the special squad the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Zubairu Muazu, sent to the area to confront recurrent cult activities. Simeon said the policemen stopped and searched Ekanem but they did not find anything incriminating thing with him. He added that the policemen demanded N100 from him, but his refusal to part with the money led to a policeman killing him.
