OKOWA OFFERS FREE EXTRA MORAL LESSON FOR STUDENTS IN JSS2, JSS3, SSS2, SSS3 AND THOSE PREPARING FOR EXTERNAL EXAMS; NECO, WAEC AND JAMB SET TO TAKE-OFF IN 10 LOCAL GOVERNMENTS ON THE 28TH OF SEPTEMBER 2017.






CREATED 154 JOBS FOR GRADUATES IN FIVE MONTHS----Orishedere Sunny, DG Team S.M.A.R.T.

This was disclosed by the Director-General of Team S.M.A.R.T for Okowa, Hon  Orishedere Esheshare Sunny at a one day orientation program for Okowa Free Lesson Centers Coordinators held at the Team SMART Secretariat at Asaba. Addressing the coordinators ahead of the resumption, he urge them to see their efforts as service to humanity. He appreciated all those that have made it possible beginning from the teachers who voluntarily key into the program without pay, the NYSC Directorate for providing us with enough corpers, the Delta State Police Command for providing security, Our Sponsors most especially Barr Chuks Obusom, the HOS Reginald Bayoko, Sir Solomon Okowa, Philip Urubuisi, Moses Fregene etc and finally the Commissioner and the entire monitoring team of State Ministry of Basic and Secondary School,  Delta State.

He said is all about initiative and Innovations, the program was initiated by the Team S.M.A.R.T for Okowa to assist the venerable students whose parents can't affords to pay for such extra moral classes for their children. It is complimenting the 0-5 initiative of the wife of the Governor and Founder of the 0-5 Initiative, Dame Edith Okowa. It is also to support the Relevant Health and Education Policies of the S.M.A.R.T. AGENDA. Today the program have help to checked negative social vices among students and engaging them after school hours.

Jigawa, Gombe and Bayelsa State commence similar program. During the long holiday all boarding school Students in Bayels State were camped at the Ijaw National Academy to receive extra moral classes, today Bayelsa from nowhere now 5th in WAEC rating. It will not cost much to make a difference in the lives of these children. 10,000 will go a long way to make a difference. Less than 100,000 is needed to run a center monthly in each LGA, 20% is contributed by Team SMART while 80% is to be contributed by elected/appointed including philanthropic individuals from each local government. Therefore, 300,000 is required for three centers in each local government.

He urged Deltans to separate the Okowa Free Lesson from Orishedere Sunny or Team S.M.A.R.T and see it as an opportunity to help the needy, more so, beneficiaries of the lesson cuts across political divide or affiliation. Within the last five months, the program have created job for 154 persons across the state no matter how small the stipends may be.

He thank the coordinators and urged them to double their efforts and by the grace of God they will be rewarded accordingly.

Responding, the State Director of Studies, Okowa Free Extra Moral Lesson Mr Frank Agbadobi thanked the DG for his humanitarian sagacity and assured him of more, effective and efficient performance.
