A man identified as Mr Sampson was gruesomely killed at Meza Filling Station along Calabar-Ugep-Ikom Highway in Ugep, Cross River state. There was tension Thursday in Onumonu Street, Owerri, Imo State, when a Landlord, Paul Oparaugo, his wife and children, stabbed his tenant, Udochukwu Iwuoha to death. The victim, who was said to be the only male child of his parents, was stabbed severally by the furious Landlord and members of his family until he gave up the ghost. Garri thief escapes lynching in Calabar . .

A 25-year-old man, John Ator, yesterday narrowly escaped being set ablaze by an angry mob after he allegedly stole two basins of garri at the popular Marian Market in Calabar, Cross River State. Ator ran into trouble at the second largest market in the state capital when he went very early to steal garri from a stall. He reportedly took the first basin away but returned to take the second basin when he was accosted by a security man in the market.
